Book: God Betrayed, Update from UTT. Be Encouraged Today!
Written by The Austins
Thursday, 17 July 2008

 A discussion of the book:

God Betrayed~

"Jerald Finney, author of God Betrayed, a Christian and a lawyer, explains the principles the Bible lays out concerning the separation of church and state. Finney then looks at the American application of those principles, the First Amendment, and the Supreme Court. He also looks at how civil government has enticed churches have abandoned their First Amendment rights."

Comment from UTT:

The following video clip of Tony Blair promoting his newly formed Faith Foundation with the purpose of working together with all faiths in order to eradicate malaria is a must view for anyone concerned about the road towards a one world religion.

Also, while viewing this clip, you will see a startling similarity to Pastor Rick Warren's P.E.A.C.E. Plan and his objective to work together with all faiths to attack AIDS. As a note of interest, Rick Warren is a member of the Tony Blair's advisory board for the Faith Foundation.

News Alert - In The News

Comment from UTT:
For the last five years we have been sounding the alarm that it would not be long before the pope would call for ecumenical unity centered around the Eucharist. This is what mass is all about - a priest as the agent of transubstantiation, who supposedly has the power to transform a wafer into the presence of Jesus, offered again and again as an unbloody sacrifice for sin.
In the following article, Pope Benedict calls for the Eucharist to be the focal point of a common unity. In a previous statement made in a message the pope gave in Sydney one day before, the pope called for religions to come together for the cause of eliminating terrorism. While it may be possible for religions to consider terrorism as a cause for unity, it seems impossible that accepting the Roman Catholic Jesus being present in a wafer could ever happen.
It will. First, the separated brethren - Anglicans, Lutherans and then experience based emerging purpose-driven Christians - who are drawn by a strong delusion and refuse to accept the Scriptures. Following lying signs and wonders and supposed appearances of "Jesus" during Eucharistic adoration as well as "apparitional appearances of Mary", people of all religions will be drawn to the mother of all churches and become part of a one world religion for peace.

July 18 - News Alert - Ecumenism ultimately points toward a common Eucharist, Pope tells Christians

Article: One World Religion

.- Fifteen leaders of the Australian Christian church met the Pope in an Ecumenical event held in the St. Mary's Cathedral Crypt on Friday morning. In his address to the church leaders, Benedict XVI called on them to not view doctrine as divisive since that view can prevent Christians from working to improve the world.

Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal George Pell represented the Catholic Church, while Rev. Robert Forsythe was present for the Anglican Church. Leaders representing the Syrian Orthodox, Maronite Catholics, Indian Orthodox, Chinese Methodist, the Lutheran and Uniting churches were also present.

The pope delivered a short address to the leaders, praising their commitment to the ecumenical movement, citing the Covenant signed in 2004 by the members of the National Council of Churches in Australia.

"This document recognizes a common commitment, sets out goals, and acknowledges points of convergence without glossing over differences," said the Pope.

While Baptism is the starting point for ecumenical dialogue, the Pope said that, "The road of ecumenism ultimately points towards a common celebration of the Eucharist. we can be sure that a common Eucharist one day would only strengthen our resolve to love and serve one another in imitation of our Lord."

"For this reason, a candid dialogue concerning the place of the Eucharist - stimulated by a renewed and attentive study of scripture, patristic writings, and documents from across the two millennia of Christian history - will undoubtedly help to advance the ecumenical movement and unify our witness to the world," the Pontiff said.

The ecumenical movement has, the Pope observed, "reached a critical juncture. To move forward, we must continually ask God to renew our minds with the Holy Spirit, Who speaks to us through the scriptures and guides us into all truth. We must guard against any temptation to view doctrine as divisive and hence an impediment to the seemingly more pressing and immediate task of improving the world in which we live."

"As 'fellow citizens' of the 'household of God,' Christians must work together to ensure that the edifice stands strong so that others will be attracted to enter and discover the treasures of grace within."

An interesting article from:

http://www.trinityfoundation.org/PDF/277-Imperious_Presbyterianism_Reed.pdf

Imperious Presbyterianism

Kevin Reed

Editor’s Foreword

"Authoritarianism is an expression of the sinful nature of fallen man. It finds expression in families and businesses, but most cruelly in churches and governments. It is lording it over one’s fellow men – hence the English House of Lords, for example – but it is explicitly forbidden by Christ to his disciples. It is the “Gentiles,” not the Christians, who exercise dominion over their fellow men. “Dominion Theology,” influential in some Reformed and Charismatic churches, fails to understand Genesis 1:28, which does not even mention dominion over men.

Today, authoritarianism pervades the professing churches, from the absolute monarchy of the Roman Catholic Church-State, with its nobility of bishops, to the local Charismatic church that teaches submission and the local Baptist church that has only one pastor and no elders – all are in disobedience to Christ.

This sinful authoritarianism has also entered the “conservative” Presbyterian churches, and it is based on the same doctrinal errors that led to the formation of the Roman Church-State 1500 years ago. In this essay, Kevin Reed traces the historical and doctrinal roots of Imperious Presbyterianism, and calls Bible-believing Presbyterians to correct the errors of their authoritarian elders."

Contemplating the deeper questions of life...

Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons?

Can God create a rock so big that He cannot move it?

After further consideration of that last

Yesterday a friend dropped by...

it was so sweet to see her and her precious ones.

But I was in my ragged clothes covered in paint,

no make-up, hair kind of just pushed back.

I don't think I will put a picture up of THAT.

I've come a long way.  In my younger years

I would not have even gotten

the mail without being put together for the day...

My friend however, was dressed beautifully and

looked fantastic. They had just come from a funeral

of an elderly friend.  Actually we should have had

a picture taken together.  The contrast was a funny sight.

the '80s.  It was a real encourager!

1 Timothy 6~

6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world,

and it is certain  we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and clothing, with these

we shall be content.

9 But those who desire to be rich fall into

temptation and a snare, and into many

foolish and harmful lusts which drown men

in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is a root of all

kinds of evil, for which some have strayed

from the faith in their greediness, and pierced

themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But you, O man of God, flee these

things and pursue righteousness, godliness,

faith, love, patience, gentleness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold

on eternal life, to which you were also

called and have confessed the good

confession in the presence of many witnesses.

13 I urge you in the sight of God who

gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus

who witnessed the good confession before

Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep this commandment

without spot, blameless until our

Lord Jesus Christ's appearing,

15 which He will manifest in His own time,

He who is the blessed and only Potentate,

the King of kings and Lord of lords,

16 who alone has immortality, dwelling

in unapproachable light, whom no man

has seen or can see, to whom be honor

and everlasting power. Amen.

17 Command those who are rich in this

present age not to be haughty, nor to trust

in uncertain riches but in the living God,

who gives us richly all things to enjoy.

18 Let them do good, that they be rich

in good works, ready to give, willing to share,

19 storing up for themselves a good

foundation for the time to come,

that they may lay hold on eternal life.

20 O Timothy! Guard what was committed

to your trust, avoiding the profane and

idle babblings and contradictions of what

is falsely called knowledge--

21 by professing it some have strayed

concerning the faith. Grace be with you. Amen.

2513 -  Light Into Darkness  7/2/08\

"...Some years ago, a critic of Understand The Times challenged me with something I could not get out of my mind. At the time UTT was known primarily as a “discernment” ministry. When you are called to be a watchman on the wall, you are constantly warning people about spiritual dangers that lurk on the horizon. Many see you as “too negative.” I was told that the ministry of UTT was no longer valid – we were “against everything.”

Of course this cut deep into my soul. How could we be known as an organization that was against everything? The fact we were warning about deception, I thought, showed we were for Jesus Christ and His Word. Apparently, this was not the case. It was true. We did need to make some adjustments.

From that point on the LORD has shown us to be on the offense as well as the defense. We should be known for what we are for, as well as what we are against. Some today, you see, say you should only be known for what you are for. This I believe is a distorted view that comes from being purpose driven rather than Spirit led..."
